Sister Bear Designs began as a healing journey for 3 sisters (Valerie, Kathleen and Malinda), to honour their family and community's knowledge, strength, resilience and determination to carry on traditional Anishinaabe teachings through creating. The 3 Sisters learned how to create and to coax a pattern out of beads from their Grandparents, Aunties and other family members. Founded by Kathleen, Sister Bear Designs now includes 3 generations of family artists and supports a select collection of Indigenous gifts and clothing. Sister Bear Designs is Abiimadgamowin – our life's journey, our stories and our hopes for future generations. Sister Bear Designs is a based out of Lac Des Mille Lacs First Nation (Treaty 3 Territory) with a retail location at 251 Red River Rd, Thunder Bay, Ontario, Canada.
