Austin Gourmet Popcorn

Alison & Scott knew they wanted to own their own business after their two sons left home. They tossed around a few different ideas but kept coming back to popcorn. A vision blossomed. Gourmet candy and confections were another fondness they shared. Soon their vision was a reality on paper. It took much time, effort, and investment to locate a good location for their store, which they named Austin Gourmet Popcorn (like all of us at the shop, they *love* Austin), remodel the inside, buy equipment, stock the store, and do all the 12,746 other things you have to do to open a food business in Austin. Their oldest son, Randy, with a degree from UNT in hospitality management and experience in the food industry, moved from Colorado to help out. The store opened on Halloween Eve in October 2015. With a love of vintage soda and root beer, Randy added an ever-growing collection of unique cold beverages to the offerings. Today the store offers 40 flavors of gourmet popcorn, all made onsite. We offer almost 100 different types of soda, plus 300 different kinds of candy. Austin Gourmet Popcorn produces custom vinyl labels for organizations or events. We offer gift tins, boxes, and buckets in a wide price range and also provide logo tins with logos from local high schools, a variety of colleges, and several NFL teams. Customers routinely describe the store as happy and fun, through a mouthful of popcorn, of course. The store is open seven days a week. Our store is at the Anderson Arbor strip shopping mall at the SE corner of Anderson Mill Road and Hwy 183. We're south of Kerbey Lane Cafe and north of the Melting Pot, next to Double Dave's Pizza.
